Go With the Flow: Keep on Trucking

I had to surrender the cushion today, and I'm not too happy about it. I can feel the difference not having FlowCushion makes on my seat. I sense the pressure of prolonged sitting at work, and I doubt I'll find improvement on the drive home.

Yet, a friend is off to Williamsburg today to take advantage of the good weather. He intends to bike the Colonial Parkway (which connects Jamestown to Yorktown), and wanted something to keep him driving comfortably through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, along I-64. If you're familiar with the area, traffic can get congested going into the tunnel on the Southside, then clumping up again near Newport News before you get to the Busch Gardens exit. Having FlowCushion to carry you there is a boon, and I hope my friend will see (and feel) that, then buy his own!

Cushion on top of a cushion?

We joked about it earlier, reciting verbatim the Monty Python skit about "putting things on top of other things." We were seated in a booth at Jason's Deli, now open at Pembroke Mall, now part of the blossoming Town Center area of Virginia Beach. The booths are nicely padded, and we enjoyed the company and salad bar and complimentary gingerbread muffins. Throughout dinner, however, I felt something was missing.

Mind you, padded seats can be comfortable to some extent, but I've had the FlowCushion in my car for some time and am accustomed to sitting on the alternating air cushion. I wondered, could it be possible to enjoy dinner sitting on FlowCushion...while seated on an already padded seat?

I brought FlowCushion from my car and gave it a try. We got a few curious looks as I arranged the battery pack so it wouldn't get too much in the way, and I didn't mind. We want the FlowCushion to be seen, after all! And, I can surely attest, FlowCushion is a boon to the frequent diner. The seat cushion is not at all bulky, so you don't get too much added lift in a booth. Just switch it on and let the inflatable air cells keep the blood in your lower body moving. You can enjoy dinner without worrying about stiffness in the leg joints.

And if you ever get to Jason's in Virginia Beach, try the Irish potato soup. Great stuff!

Go with the Flow

It's said the best way to promote a product (remember, too, this is in the days before Google pay-per-click), is word of mouth. While our FlowCushion site gets a fair amount of traffic, we recognize also the need to get the product out in the real world so people can see firsthand its effectiveness. People see FlowCushion, like FlowCushion, and talk about FlowCushion. Hopefully somewhere in the mix, people start buying it. It is our hope, too, that you will see, like, and buy.

While we'd love to be everywhere at once, we must act locally in order to think globally. Armed with our own FlowCushion, we set out into the world to test the seat cushion's comfort, and we were impressed. We began the weekend with a long drive from the Chesapeake Beach area to the new Red Mill Commons shopping area in Virginia Beach. FlowCushion served us well for the 30-minute drive in heavy beach traffic (by the way, if you haven't seen the Red Mill area yet, you have to check it out). The husband needed to stop by Fat Frogs Bike and Fitness to look at a new model Orbea for his blossoming second career as a road racer. The portable seat cushion served me well for the time I had to sit in the store and wait - which I why I much sympathy for the man who holds the purse while the wife tries on clothes.

Lunch at Jake's Smokehouse BBQ was delicious as usual. We don't get there often because of the distance from the house, but when we do we are never disappointed. The cushion was especially helpful here, supporting our new found weight!

flow cushion

FlowCushion Deluxe works like no other air cushion. Using a state-of-the-art microprocessor-controlled pump and valve system, air pressure is alternated within a series of small bladders in order to help promote relief on the various pressure points on your leg and coccyx muscles. These bladders inflate and deflate in a steady, quiet rhythm to lift and shift the body as it sits. With the remote, you control how fast and how long you want the cushion to work.

As you sit on Flow Cushion, blood circulation may be continually enhanced. You may feel less tired and sore after several hours of sitting, and therefore more energetic. You may feel, too, that your posture improves, thereby reducing the opportunity for discomfort.

FlowCushion Deluxe comes with an AC adapter and a special cigarette lighter adapter for travel. It's perfect for use at the office, home, or in the car, and makes a great gift for the frequent traveler in your life:

  • Transportation workers - bus and cab drivers
  • Truck Drivers - always on the road
  • Chauffeurs - great for prolonged driving and waiting
  • Busy moms - for shuttling kids to school and meetings
  • Long road trips - stop less frequently for stretch breaks
